Precision Remanufacturing Backed by Real Testing

At Turbo Kings, every International 5004613 FV air compressor is rebuilt through a precision-controlled, in-house process that restores full OEM functionality, reliability, and verified performance.
Manufactured by Bendix and installed by Navistar / International on DT466, DT466E, HT530, and HT570 enginesbetween 1998 and 2004, this compressor belongs to the TF-550 series — a two-cylinder, single-stage, water-cooled, gear-driven platform used across the DT family of engines.

The FV designation identifies the Front Valve configuration, where the discharge valve assembly is positioned at the forward section of the head for improved airflow routing and easier service access. Functionally, it maintains the same 16.5 CFM @ 1250 RPM output as other TF-550 models, but with a front-mounted port layout favored in many DT466 chassis.

At Turbo Kings, we don’t reseal or cosmetically clean cores — we rebuild, re-spec, and re-certify them. Each compressor is fully disassembled and media-cleaned before precision inspection. Bores, bearings, and crank journals are gauged for taper, scoring, or fatigue; valve seats are measured for concentricity; and all wear components are replaced with Bendix-spec OEM-grade parts to restore original compression balance and efficiency.

All air and coolant passages are ultrasonically cleaned, removing internal scale, carbon, and oil buildup that conventional cleaning can’t reach. This ensures unrestricted airflow, balanced cooling, and steady output under continuous duty.

Once assembled, each compressor undergoes bench-testing under simulated engine load, verifying pressure build rate, oil carry-over, cut-in/cut-out stability, and leak integrity. Only units that meet Bendix and Detroit Diesel flow standards are serialized, logged, and cleared for shipment.

This isn’t a guess — it’s verified performance, confirmed right here at Turbo Kings.
